Cringeworthy
Luke 7.36-50 What makes Jesus cringe? Who is particularly cringeworthy in His eyes? There's exceptionally good news for all of us who have done things that make God cringe! Even though we are more lost than we could ever imagine, we are also more infinitely loved that we could ever imagine! Looking for a reason to give thanks? This is it!

What to Do When You are Expecting
Luke 7.18-23. What do you expect from Jesus? Honestly? All of us have our "great expectations" of what Jesus will do for us. Those impact our walk with God, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. Jesus helps us set our expectations, so that our walk is sober, steady and straight!

    Is He or Isn’t He?
Luke 7.1-10. Jesus taught us not to “judge” or “condemn” others (Luke 6:37), but what do we do about that man/woman in the mirror? Is she worthy? Is he? How do we know? What do the witnesses have to say? This week Jesus meets a man who is worthy, or maybe not! You be the judge!

    Fruits and Foundation
Luke 6.43-49. What do you hear? That's a pretty important question when the person on the other end of the stethoscope is a medical professional! And we want a good report! Jesus puts a spiritual stethoscope to our hearts as He concludes His greatest message. What He hears makes all the difference in the world!

    An Equal and Opposite Reaction
Luke 6.37-42. Raise your hand if you love to be judged! No volunteers? None of us like to be judged by others, do we? Yet it is almost a knee-jerk reaction for each of us to judge what another person says, does or looks like. Jesus had a thing or two to say about my proclivity to judge. Let's consider His advice to us in Luke’s Gospel, chapter 6, and measure accordingly.

    Hard Questions for Serious Disciples
Luke 6.27-36. What's the hardest question you've ever been asked? The hardest decision you've ever had to make? Where did you go for advice? Who counseled you? How hard was the answer? Jesus gets down-and-dirty in this portion of his most famous sermon, giving hard answers for serious disciples. Consider yourself forewarned!

    More is Less
Luke 6.24-26. What's the diagnosis? Doctors poke, prod, test and then deliver our diagnosis. It isn't always the news we hope for, and that's no fun. However, they don't stop with the diagnosis. They also give us our treatment options and our prognosis based on treatment. In Luke 6:24-26 Jesus delivers a straightforward diagnosis, but He also offers a very Hope-full prognosis if we stick with the treatment plan! Now that's Good News!

    Less is More
Luke 6.17-23. What do you expect? Most of us have a bunch of expectations! We set them, manage them, meet them, fail to meet them, understand and misunderstand them. We have professional expectations, marital expectations, parenting expectations, educational expectations, and religious expectations. Expectations set us up for success or set us off towards disappointment. In Luke 6:17-23 Jesus clarifies what we can expect if we choose to follow Him. He reminds us that pursuing God’s Kingdom is a stranger thing, an upside-down approach to life where “less is more.” Honestly.

    Jesus’ Calling
Luke 6.12-16. Some of you are stuck on the punctuation of my title. Some of you are looking for news on a Sarah Young book. In this sermon there will be no talk of punctuation or morning devotionals, but you will see Jesus' call to a few common men to be a part of his big rescue mission. Jesus has a plan but he needed then and needs people today to answer the call.
