Joy to the World
Psalm 98 - We sing Joy to the World as a Christmas hymn, but it is so much more! Jesus is coming back, and God has called us to actively work and worship as we wait on that great Day! A good reminder of the great things to come for those who follow Jesus!

    The Wrapping of Christmas
Christmas gifts typically come wrapped! And that's how God our Father's great gift of Christmas, Jesus, came special delivery to us! He was wrapped in swaddling cloths that first Christmas to reveal He is really, completely and totally with us. He went on as a man to wrap Himself in other ways, each profoundly kind revealing He is for us! Unwrap the wrappings of Jesus and see His goodness!

    O Little Town of Bethlehem
Matthew 2 and Micah 5 - Bethlehem is a real, historical place, the place where a real, historical person named Jesus was born. History means that you and I can be secure about our Faith! It isn't based on myth or wishful thinking, but on historic places and people who can be searched out! Good news! Bethlehem's humble status reminds us for all eternity that our God comes to the simple, the small, the humble. Good news! The very meaning of the word "Bethlehem" reminds us that the One Who was born there is the bread of life, the One Who can satisfy our deepest longing and quench our greatest thirst. Good news! Good news indeed! Rejoice!

    Come Thou Long Expected Jesus
Do you feel the anticipation? Perhaps more than any other time of year, Christmas is a time of anticipation. When we go back to the first Christmas, we find a sense of almost exhausted anticipation among the people of Israel. The Old Testament promise of a Messiah began as early as Genesis 3, building with God's promises to Abraham and then King David, all the way up through the prophets, both major and minor. Then there was silence, a pregnant pause of 400 years. Israel was waiting, watching, praying, hoping for the fulfillment of God's promises, wondering when the long-expected Messiah would arrive. Take a trip from Old Testament to New as we remember their anticipation, and stir our own.
